Dear Friends and Supporters,
In the three months since our last update, the world has changed in deeply troubling ways. As humanitarian crises multiply and compassion seems increasingly in short supply, the challenges facing the most vulnerable have grown more acute. In Venezuela, the public health emergency remains severe, underscoring just how vital our work has become.
In the midst of global turmoil, your continued generosity shines as a beacon of hope. Your support is not only meaningful — it’s lifesaving. On behalf of the many Venezuelans whose lives you’ve touched, thank you.
Here’s a brief summary of what your support has helped us achieve over the past three months.

“Your scholarship has helped me in so many ways, but most importantly, it has greatly eased my financial stress. This has allowed me to fully focus on my postgraduate studies and dedicate myself to becoming the best paediatrician I can be. Thanks to the scholarship, I’ve been able to cover essential expenses like transportation, books, and other residency-related costs. Thank you so much!”
— Dr Laura Peña, junior doctor.
Laura is one of the 60 junior doctors we support with a monthly $75 scholarship. In the last quarter alone, these dedicated professionals cared for 17,773 patients across 8 public hospitals — an average of 100 patients per month per doctor. The cost? Just £0.75 per consultation!
This programme delivers a double impact — empowering future doctors through education while bringing vital healthcare to Venezuela’s most vulnerable communities.

“I’m the Director of Rafael Vegas Nursery School, and having access to clean water has truly been a blessing for us. It has made a huge difference in preparing meals for the children, giving us peace of mind knowing the water is safe! In fact, it’s even led to an increase in enrolment, as families feel confident their children’s food is prepared with clean water. Thank you so much, Healing Venezuela!”
— Professor Miriam Sandrea, Director
This is the testimony the Director of the nursery school adjacent to the Maternal and Child Hospital of Caricuao, where we installed a potable water system in 2020. This year, we completed an extension to include the nursery, now providing clean water to 150 children. An unexpected — and wonderful — outcome has been an increase in school enrolment.
In the past quarter alone, our potable water plants in hospitals produced a combined total of 79,080 litres of clean water benefiting patients, visitors, doctors and staff.

“My children have been beneficiaries of the food programme for years. Thanks to Healing Venezuela, now I have my own business, and the chance to give back to my community.”
— Guaraunos parent and entrepreneur.
Since 2018, we have run food security programmes in vulnerable communities — including the village of Guaraunos, where we’ve been providing daily meals to 100 children since 2019. In the past quarter alone, we served 10,680 healthy meals.
As the worst of the crisis has eased, we will be closing the programme in July 2025. But we didn’t want to simply walk away. That’s why we’ve trained and financially supported eight local women to start their own farming businesses — creating a more sustainable future for the village.

Speaking at international events is a powerful way to raise awareness about Venezuela’s ongoing crisis.
This past quarter, we were honoured to speak at both the Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC) and the Small International Development Charities Network (SIDCN), where we shared our experiences alongside other diaspora and development organisations.
Looking forward, with spring just around the corner, we’re gearing up for some fantastic events. The 5th edition of our famous Zumbathonwill take place on May 18th — a fun-filled way to exercise, connect, and raise funds for Venezuela!
